Preparation for your appointment

There is a lot to cover in the first appointment! It’s normal to feel a little overwhelmed.

When you intially call the rooms we will confirm your due date and discuss fees with you. Nicole will arrange a booking at the hospital and send you out a pack of information. Shortly after you receive the information, Tristen our practice midwife, will call you and answer any questions you may have about the paperwork, the practice, your upcoming visit and pregnancy care in general.

At the first visit Vicki will spend time getting to know you and your spouse, support people or partner. This visit will take approximately 45 minutes. Vicki will take a detailed medical history and perform a thorough examination including an ultrasound of your baby! You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the pregnancy and your care with Vicki. We will cover issues such as screening for fetal abnormalities, exercise and travel in pregnancy and the dietary do’s and dont’s. By the end of the visit, together with Vicki, you will have developed a plan for the pregnancy.
